My most current title was cops and courts reporter -- covered circuit/felony court every other week, rummaged through electronic court files at least twice a week. I also covered major felony cases in the outlying counties The Daily Republic covered. One such case included the murder trial of 20-year-old Maricela Diaz, who was convicted of killing a 16-year-old girl in 2009.

I have also worked as the region reporter, covering general news in a 17-county region in southeast South Dakota.

For three of the four years at The Daily Republic, I paginated the Monday editions and covered shifts for the main paginator as needed using InDesign program and Google Drive.
